A 39-year-old man fatally shot himself Monday after confronting his ex-wife in a parking lot outside the Ventura County courthouse.
The man, whose name was not released, was apparently upset over the property settlement in the couple’s divorce, said Capt. Ross Bonfiglio, a spokesman for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident occurred about 8:20 a.m. as court employees, attorneys, law enforcement personnel and jurors were starting their day at the busy government complex.
