The week ahead for the Dodgers

Tuesday through Thursday: Reds at Cincinnati
Friday through Sunday: Nationals at Washington
The Dodgers open this trip with what could be a long night, with Chad Billingsley scheduled to face Homer Bailey on Tuesday. Billingsley has started two games this season, making 223 pitches in 11 innings, with seven walks. Bailey also has started twice this season, making 221 pitches in 10 1/3 innings, with six walks. The Reds drafted Bailey, 23, as their top pick in 2004, and he appeared to blossom last season, posting a 6-1 record and 1.70 earned-run average in his final nine starts. The Reds selected Bailey at No. 7 that year, passing on pitchers Jered Weaver (No. 12, Angels), Phil Hughes (No. 23, Yankees), Yovani Gallardo (No. 46, Brewers) and J.A. Happ (No. 92, Phillies).
