Kid-O-Rama

When, where: Feb. 13-21, various venues at Squaw Valley USA

Highlights:The former Olympic site presents a week’s worth of family fun, including ski racing, street parties, kids’ concerts, teen camp, ice skating, snow tubing, Big Truck Night, scavenger hunt and the chance to meet the dogs of the avalanche rescue team.

Cost: Many events are free; tubing is $16 an hour, skating is $11 for two hours, and family ski racing is $1 per run.

Jewlicious Music Arts and Culture Festival

When, where: Feb. 19-21, Alpert Jewish Community Center

Highlights: The sixth annual event brings together Jewish musicians, comedians, artists, speakers and writers for an array of eclectic performances, energetic parties and a vendor fair.

Blossom Trail Weekend

When, where: March 6 and 7, Sanger, Reedley and the Blossom Trail wineries

Highlights: A weekend packed with events centering on the 62-mile self-guided tour through eastern Fresno County’s historic towns. The celebration of the region’s agricultural heritage includes the 22nd annual Blossom Days Festival in Sanger (arts and crafts, food booths, exhibits and so on), the annual Sanger Chamber of Commerce Blossom Day Car Show, Sanger’s 13th annual Blossom Trail Run, Reedley’s 21st annual Kings River Blossom Bike Ride, Reedley’s Blossom Trail Art Exhibit, Blossom Trail train rides and more.

Celtic Faire

When, where: March 12-14, Mother Lode Fairgrounds

Highlights: The 24th annual event features jousting knights, fire-eaters, ax-throwers, magicians, jugglers, belly dancers, archers, Irish step dancers, history reenactors, horses and bagpipe bands. Try traditional foods and vote for your favorite during the Great Whiskey Tasting Competition.
