Monday through Thursday: at Chicago White Sox
Friday through Sunday: at Oakland Athletics
The Chicago White Sox vaulted back into contention by putting up the best record in interleague play. They went 15-3 against the Marlins, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Nationals, making up eight games in the standings within 18 days. The Sox then returned to the American League portion of their schedule and promptly lost two of three to the Kansas City Royals. Juan Pierre, who batted .308 with a .757 on-base plus slugging percentage for the Dodgers last season, is batting .255 for the White Sox through Friday, with a .606 OPS that ranks next to last among AL players with 300 at-bats.
