AT THE PLATE:
The Angels scored five runs in the fourth inning against White Sox closer
Bobby Jenks
. Among the highlights were

run-scoring triple,
Howie Kendrick’s
run-scoring single and

two-run single.
Cory Aldridge
hit a solo home run, his second of the spring, in the seventh inning.
Hideki Matsui
, slowed by his arthritic knees, scored from first on Morales’ triple.
ON THE MOUND:
Closer
Brian Fuentes
pitched a one-two-three fourth inning, striking out
Jordan Danks
and
Gordon Beckham
and getting
Carlos Quentin
to pop out to first, and his fastball was clocked at 91 mph. The left-hander whiffed Danks looking at a nice fastball on the outside corner. Relievers
Brian Stokes
and
Jason Bulger
also threw scoreless innings.
EXTRA BASES:
Mike Napoli’s
power surge continued when the Angels catcher hit a three-run homer — his fourth home run of the spring — in the first inning of the Angels’ 7-7 split-squad tie against the Cleveland Indians in Goodyear, Ariz.
Michael Ryan
hit a two-run homer in a three-run ninth that tied the score for the Angels.
