Friday Night Lights: Homecoming at the newly reopened school prompts Eric (Kyle Chandler) to investigate East Dillon’s history in this new episode (8 p.m. NBC).

Wife Swap: In this new episode, a prim and proper New York mom who runs an etiquette school for girls and boys, trades places with a fun-loving mother whose family enjoys mud racing (8 p.m. ABC).

Past Life: The case of a young girl with traumatic past-life memories leads Kate and Price to a serial killer in this new episode (8 p.m. Fox).

SPECIALS

Cannibal Hippos: In a truly macabre special, scientific investigators search for clues to an epidemic that has killed hundreds of hippopotamuses in an African wildlife park (7 p.m. National Geographic).

E! Entertainment Special: E! Celebrates 20 Years of the Celebrity Revolution: This new special celebrates memorable celebrity and pop culture events and developments as chronicled on the cable channel. With Joan Rivers, Kim Kardashian, Randy Jackson, Audrina Patridge, Brooke Burke and John Henson (9 p.m. E!).

MOVIES

POWs in World War II: TCM kicks off Memorial Day weekend with three of the best war movies ever made. At 5 p.m., William Holden earned an Oscar for his portrayal of an American sergeant held in a Nazi POW in director Billy Wilder’s 1953 drama “Stalag 17.” Otto Preminger, Don Taylor and Peter Graves co-star. That’s followed at 7:15 by 1963’s “The Great Escape” with Steve McQueen, James Garner, Richard Attenborough and Charles Bronson. The evening ends with Holden, again, starring with Alec Guiness in director David Lean’s brilliant 1957 epic “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” at 10:15.

Tennis: French Open (9 a.m. ESPN2).

Baseball: The Dodgers visit the Colorado Rockies (6 p.m. KCAL); the Seattle Mariners visit the Angels (7 p.m. FSN).

Basketball: The NBA playoffs: Orlando Magic visit the Boston Celtics (5:30 p.m. ESPN).

WNBA Basketball: The Washington Mystics visit the Sparks (7:30 p.m. FS Prime).
