Angels week ahead

Monday through Wednesday: vs. Cleveland Indians

Friday through Sunday: vs. Seattle Mariners

This figures to be an ugly week at Angel Stadium. Both Cleveland and Seattle will be mathematically eliminated from their division races by the end of the week. And the Angels’ end isn’t far behind. But there are some individual battles still to be fought. Seattle’s Ichiro Suzuki needs a torrid finish to reach 200 hits for the 10th time in as many seasons while the Angels’ Jered Weaver and the Mariners’ Felix Hernandez entered the weekend tied for the major league lead in strikeouts. Hernandez is also second in the American League with a 2.38 earned-run average.
