Australian singer Cody Simpson has become an L.A. homeowner with the purchase of a place in West Hollywood for $1.18 million.
Perhaps the recent 18-year-old counts the crib as a birthday gift to himself.
Set in a gated complex built in 2000, the contemporary town house has been renovated and updated with custom cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances.
The 1,646 square feet of space includes living and family rooms, a dining area, an office, two bedrooms with walk-in closets and three bathrooms. There are four patios and rooftop deck with up-close city views.
Surfer-songwriter-actor Simpson started off as a competitive swimmer before he was discovered singing on YouTube. His albums include “Paradise” (2012) and “Surfers Paradise” (2013).
This year he’ll release his third studio album, “Free.” In his new video “Flower” he sings to girlfriend and model Gigi Hadid.
He took his turn on “Dancing With the Stars” last year and toured with singer Jackson Harris. Look for him to guest star on “Cougar Town” this year.
The property last sold in 2012 for $885,000, public records show.
Celebrity Address Aerial spotted Simpson’s purchase.
Justin Paul Huchel of Hilton & Hyland and Sandro Dazzan of Coldwell Banker were the listing agents, according to the Multiple Listing Service, while Suzette Abbott of Sotheby’s International represented Simpson.
