Comedian and actress Kym Whitley, known for her sitcom roles on “The Parkers” and “Animal Practice,” has bought a walled and gated estate in Tarzana for $1.25 million.
The Tudor-style house, built in 1979, sits on half an acre of grounds with a swimming pool and spa, a lighted tennis court and a dog run. The detached two-car garage serves as a workshop/studio space.
There is more than 3,300 square feet of living space that includes a two-story entry, a formal dining room, a great room, four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The updated kitchen flows into a family room with a brick fireplace. Walls of sliding doors open to a covered patio and a custom-built barbecue station.
The property came on the market in September for $1.395 million and sold in about two months, records show.
Gina Lipari of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties was the listing agent.
Aisha Andrews of Architectural Estates represented the buyer.
Whitley, 56, has scores of credits, including the films “Fun With Dick and Jane” (2005) and “Fist Fight” (2017). She was nominated for a BET Comedy Award for her role as Ormandy in “Deliver Us From Eva” (2003). Last year, she appeared on the Netflix show “Master of None.”
