Former L.A. King Slava Voynov lists his contemporary in Redondo Beach

Former Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov, who exited the U.S. for Russia in September amid fallout from a domestic violence charge, has put his home in Redondo Beach on the market for $2.89 million.

The contemporary-style home on a narrow lot was designed by Michael Lee Architects and built in 2013. Clean lines, floor-to-ceiling glass and indoor-outdoor living spaces feature prominently in the design.

Two floors of living space, with wide-plank wood floors and custom lighting, include an open-plan kitchen with sliding glass walls that open to a side courtyard and swimming pool. A tequila room with LED lighting, formal living and dining rooms and media room outfitted with five TVs and tiered seating are also within the 4,020 square feet of living space.

Four bedrooms and six bathrooms include a step-down master suite with a custom closet and a guest suite with a kitchenette and separate entrance. Wrap-around balconies extend off the second story of the home.

Voynov, 25, was suspended indefinitely from the NHL in October last year after being arrested on domestic violence charges. He pleaded no contest to a reduced misdemeanor charge in July and served about two months in jail. Facing possible deportation, he returned to his native Russia last month.

Drafted 32nd overall by L.A. in 2008, Voynov appeared in 190 games for the Kings, scoring 18 goals and making 63 assists. He twice won the Stanley Cup (2012 and 2014) with the franchise.

Voynov bought the house last year for $2.6 million, public records show.
