“My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic,” of course, is the animated TV series based on the most recent generation of the eponymous Hasbro toy line (which has been around since the 1980s). The film will feature Kristin Chenoweth voicing a new character alongside the “Friendship Is Magic” characters voiced by Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain and Ashleigh Ball.
Writer Meghan McCarthy is penning the screenplay and her “Friendship Is Magic” colleague Jayson Thiessen will direct the film.
Those of you already making plans for your 2017 movies will remember that Nov. 3 is also the current release date set for “Thor: Ragnarok.” So let the countdown to 2017 begin.
Until then, enjoy the “My Little Pony” short above.
