"Sense8," the super-sensory Netflix series created by Lana and Andy Wachowski, gave its fans some tweet treats Saturday when they announced via Twitter that the show was receiving a second season.
Netflix had its Television Critics Association presentation of the show on July 28, which included co-creator/executive producer J. Michael Straczynski, executive producer Grant Hill, actors Jamie Clayton, Brian J. Smith, Daryl Hannah and Naveen Andrews. But many of the show's other stars weren't in attendance.

The show, about eight individuals from different parts of the world who are able to communicate with one another and access feelings and abilities from one another through a shared sensory experience (whew!), was generally well-received by critics. The Times' Robert Lloyd said: "It wants to be an experience as much as a story, and for better or worse, it is — mostly better. I more than kind of liked it. And whatever you think of the Wachowskis' vision, whether you find it simplistic or sophisticated, half-baked or heavy, they do have one."
Because it was, in a sense, a birthday, there had to be a cake-message reveal to make the initial announcement.

Stars of the show joined in to wish the sensates -- followers of the show -- a happy birthday, announcing that they had been renewed in another Twitter video. The video includes actors Clayton and Smith (and his dog), Aml Ameen, Doona Bae, Tina Desai, Alfonso Herrera, Max Riemelt, Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Freema Agyeman.
