Common Reasons for Fatigue
- Share via
Q. Lately, I’ve been feeling very tired during the day even though I get 7-8 hours of sleep a night and I am exercising. Any advice?
A: Common reasons for fatigue include:
Dehydration. Limit dehydrating fluids like coffee and tea, and sip on water throughout the day. You can also try adding liquid chlorophyll to drinking water. Chlorophyll oxygenates cells which often raises energy levels;
Iron or B12 deficiency. Your doctor, via a simple blood test, can determine if you have any deficiencies of these nutrients;
Underactive thyroid (aka hypothyroid). Symptoms can include dry skin/hair, constipation, hoarse voice, and cold hands/feet.
Hormones can cause energy levels to slump. Omega 3 fish oils (1,000-4,000 mg daily) might help.
Adrenal glands. Ask your doctor to check their levels to ensure they are functioning optimally.
In any case, if you are feeling tired and this is out of character for you, consult with your doctor.
