“Sometimes your worst self is your best self,” says Vince Vaughn’s villainous character in the opening of the new trailer for Season 2 of “True Detective.”
The one-minute preview released by HBO on Thursday shows Vaughn’s serious, intense side as crime boss Frank Semyon.
The second season will revolve around Vaughn and three police officers -- Ray Velcoro played by Colin Farrell, Ani Bezzerides played by Rachel McAdams and Paul Woodrugh played by Taylor Kitsch.
“A bizarre murder brings together three law enforcement officers and a career criminal, each of whom must navigate a web of conspiracy and betrayal in the scorched landscapes of California,” reads a description on HBO‘s website.
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson starred in the first season of the twisted crime drama.
The second installment of the popular series begins June 21.
