Ashlee Allen and Hypatia Runcie combined to make 12 saves for host Granada Hills in the season opener for both teams.

Lanisha Watsord scored the tying goal in the 70th minute and Melina Barragon scored the winning goal off of an assist by Stephanie Dickson in the 85th minute for host Van Nuys (1-1). Emily Leshon scored in the 35th minute for Duarte (1-1). Annie Nguyen made eight saves for Van Nuys, which outshot Duarte 21-11.

Elsa Madrid scored in the 17th minute and Lizeth Fernandez added a goal in the 61st minute to lead host Belmont to the season opening victory.
