Camilo Oropeza of Garfield (2-1 in league) won in 16:17 at Griffith Park’s 2.9-mile Greek Theatre course.
SUNSET SIX LEAGUE
Canoga Park 25, Verdugo Hills 31
Christian Rojas led Canoga Park to the victory at Pierce College by running the 3.0-mile course in 17:29. Oscar DeJesus of Verdugo Hills (2-1) took second overall by finishing in 18:07.
VALLEY MISSION LEAGUE
Monroe 15, Reseda 45
Junior Gabriel Guzman of Monroe (3-0) was the individual winner in 16:56 over the three-mile course at Pierce College. Reseda is 1-2 in league.
San Fernando 26, Van Nuys 34
Cupertino Flores of San Fernando won with a time of 18 minutes, 35 seconds, and teammates Oswaldo Barragon, William Gurracha and Chris Enriquez finished fourth, sixth and seventh, respectively, as the Tigers (3-0, 3-0) won a meet over a 3.1-mile course at Pierce College.
WEST VALLEY LEAGUE
Birmingham 15, Cleveland 48
Brian Noriega of Birmingham (6-0, 2-0) was the individual winner in 16:55 over the three-mile course at Pierce College. Cleveland is 0-2 in league
El Camino Real 20, Chatsworth 43
Manuel Rodriguez of Chatsworth (0-3) was the individual winner in 17:23 over the three-mile course at Pierce College. El Camino Real (1-2) was paced Kevin Meyer who finished second in 17:39.
Taft 19, Granada 37
Jose Rodriguez of Taft won the boys’ race in 16:43 and the Toreadors (2-0, 2-0) had five of the top six finishers in a meet run at Pierce College. Christopher Chung finished second with a time of 17:25 for Granada Hills.
GIRLS
EASTERN LEAGUE
Garfield 15, Bell 48
Carolina Garcia of Garfield (2-1 in league) finished in 20:58 to lead a sweep at Griffith Park’s 2.9-mile Greek Theatre course that included Valerie Ponce (21:33), Anahi Vargas (21:59), Araceli Salazar (22:21) and Cristina Diaz (22:42).
SUNSET SIX LEAGUE
Verdugo Hills 18, Canoga Park 38
Verdugo Hills (3-0) took control of the dual meet at Pierce College as leading finisher Stephanie Garcia ran the course in 19:57 while Megan Cowie followed in second with a time of 20:26 for the Dons.
VALLEY MISSION LEAGUE
Monroe 20, Reseda 35
Senior Belen Rojas of Monroe (3-0) was the individual winner in 21:41 over the three-mile course at Pierce College. Reseda is 1-2 in league.
San Fernando 21, Van Nuys 41
Valerie Sanchez of San Fernando was the individual winner in 20:54 over the three-mile course at Pierce College. San Fernando is 3-0 in league.
WEST VALLEY LEAGUE
Birmingham 15, Cleveland 50
Emmaline Hartel of Birmingham (6-0, 2-0) was the individual winner in 19:51 over the three-mile course at Pierce College. Cleveland is 0-2 in league.
El Camino Real 15, Chatsworth 50
Junior Emily Foxman of El Camino Real (3-0) was the individual winner in 20:36 over the three-mile course at Pierce College.
Taft 25, Granada Hills 30
Serenity Pelayo of Taft won the girls’ race in 21:44 and the Toreadors placed three runners among the top five finishers in a meet at Pierce College. Victoria Ortiz finished second (21:57) and Rachel Dulaney (22:10) placed third for Granada Hills.
