At Venice grave, an artful tribute
During a ferry tour last spring of islands surrounding Venice, Italy, Gayle Luque and her husband, Hal Jaffe, wandered the graveyard on the island of San Michele.
The San Diego couple came upon the resting place of Russian choreographer Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev (1872-1929).
“Someone had carefully and artistically arranged this beautiful still life on the grave,” Luque said. She took this photo as the sun was beginning to set.
