A school bus lies on its side. “It made us fly,” said a 16-year-old 11th-grader at Roosevelt High School who had been sitting at the back of the bus. “I flipped. I fell to the other side of the bus and then I blacked out.” When she woke up, the bus was on its side and she could hear people crying and moaning. Authorities said more than 20 people were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The bus driver was hospitalized in serious condition. (Michael Robinson Chavez / Los Angeles Times)
