Earthquake: 3.1 quake strikes near Soledad

A shallow magnitude 3.1 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning 18 miles from Soledad, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:39 a.m. PDT at a depth of 5.6 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 19 miles from Greenfield, 24 miles from King City and 27 miles from Hollister.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
