Homeowner shoots, kills burglar in Ontario, police say

A homeowner fatally shot a 26-year-old man who was trying to break into his San Bernardino County home early Sunday, police said.
Shortly after 5 a.m., a woman called police and reported that her husband opened fire on a man who was trying to forcibly enter their home, Ontario police Officer Jorge Ramirez said in a statement.
The burglar, a Los Angeles man whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead in the entryway of the home in the 800 block of West Mission Boulevard, Ramirez said.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
