Detectives investigating Lynwood shooting death

Homicide detectives late Thursday were investigating the shooting death of a man in Lynwood.
The gunfire was reported around 6:45 p.m. in 10900 block of Long Beach Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The man was slain in a strip mall, according to television news footage. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name and age were not released.
Since January 2007, at least 171 homicides have been reported in Lynwood, according to The Times Homicide Report database.
