Reader Photo: Keep your camera with you
We interrupt this week’s fun summery photos for something with a few more shades of gray. For as much as photographers like to argue about gear, one of the most basic rules of photography is: The best camera is the one you have with you.
You never know when a moment is going to appear, such as the one above from David Patrick Valera, taken while he was at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in downtown Los Angeles last month when his daughter was participating in a workshop. He managed to capture the hallway scene, with a figure walking the halls and students’ work from last year displayed in the case on the left side of the frame.
As Valera says: “I have a camera with me at all times even when I’m taxi dad running them all around town.”
