Marcos Castanon of Rialto Carter made quite a positive impression this weekend at the CBCA North South Series in San Diego.
He finished with seven hits in three games and was named the most standing player for the tournament despite the South losing two out of the three games to the North. Trevor Halsema of Madison was the South MVP.
Castanon batted .417 as a junior infielder for Carter. Daniel Zakosek of Chatsworth and Spencer Long of El Segundo also made positive impressions on South Coach Steve Madril.
Fred Warrecker of Santa Barbara, Gary Rungo of Arlington and Dave Gonzalez of Eastlake were honored as CBCA Hall of Fame coaches.
