Baseball: Granada Hills’ Steve Thompson will step down at end of season

Steve Thompson has submitted a letter of resignation effective at the end of this season as Granada Hills baseball coach, he confirmed on Monday.
Thompson had released the letter of his decision last week to parents.
Thompson will continue as a teacher at the school and coach girls’ golf.
He was hired as the baseball coach in 1996.
Granada Hills is 13-16 overall and 2-6 in league. Thompson coached major leaguer Ryan Braun.
