Boys’ basketball: Grant tries to give Coach Howard Levine his first title in 29 years
- Share via
There’s no doubt if Grant players can give Coach Howard Levine his first City Section championship in 29 years of coaching, he’ll gladly do a little dance.
The Lancers will play Hamilton on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cal State Dominguez Hills for the Division II championship.
Chad Holloway, a 6-foot-2 junior, has emerged as one of the top players in the division. He was a standout receiver in football, played a little golf and is now the player who Grant relies on to contribute in big ways.
The challenge for Grant is facing a Hamilton team that has been playing the best in the Western League. LACES has already won the Division IV title out of the league and Westchester will be facing Fairfax on Saturday for the Open Division title.
Senior Justin Griffin is averaging 10.9 points and junior Louis Walker is averaging 10.7 points for the Yankees.
