Football: Loyola’s Kelly Blake leads group of players coming back from injuries

The 2015 prep season is an opportunity for those who were injured in 2014 to come back and show what they can do when healthy.
Kelly Blake of Loyola is one of those players. The defensive back-receiver suffered a back injury during the track season in 2014 and missed Loyola’s first seven football games.
He’s healthy again, so beware. He’s not just a talented athlete. He’s a straight-A student who scored 35 out of 36 on the ACT.
“He epitomizes what a student-athlete is all about,” Coach Marvin Sanders said.
Venice could get back later this season sophomore receiver Naythan Mulugeta, who suffered a knee injury and missed all of last season.
Sherman Oaks Notre Dame quarterback Cole Klayman was rolling until a shoulder injury ended his season in the seventh game. He’s back and should be in top form.
Darien Cornay of Los Alamitos, a defensive back, was injured in the second game last season and never came back. He looked terrific in summer passing competitions.
There’s lots of other players looking forward to being healthy and getting a new start.
