Girls’ basketball: Sierra Canyon joins boys’ team in trip to Berkeley

Sierra Canyon could be saving money on its bus trip to Berkeley. The girls’ team joined the boys’ team in earning the right to play for a state championship on Saturday, defeating Oaks Christian, 49-37, in the Division IV regional final at Colony.
Gabi Nevill and Cheyanne Wallace scored 14 points apiece and Kennedy Burke added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The boys’ team will play Friday at noon at Haas Pavilion in the Division V final and the girls’ team will play Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Division IV final.
