Soccer: Loyola wins in shootout over Warren to reach Division 1 final

Lucas Donoso had the game-winning penalty kick in a shootout with Warren to help the Cubs earn a spot in Saturday’s Southern Section Division 1 soccer championship match.\
The two schools went scoreless through regulation and overtime, forcing a shootout.
Goalie Anthonio Chavez Borrelli was magnificent in getting his 20th shutout in 29 games. He also blocked two penalty kicks. Loyola will face Santa Barbara, a winner in overtime over Los Alamitos, in the final.
In Division 3, top-seeded Cathedral survived a shootout with Pasadena to advance to the final. Yael Calderon had the game-winning penalty kick. Max Valdiva scored the only goal for Cathedral to produce a 1-1 deadlock.
