Update: It’s a strange predicament for a team with a conference-low eight goals in 12 games, but Chivas USA may actually have too many strikers. Juan Agudelo, acquired earlier this month in a trade with the New York Red Bulls, has returned from a short trial with the U.S. national team. So Chivas USA Coach Robin Fraser will have to pick two starters from a pool of candidates that also includes Jose Erick Correa, who has scored twice in three starts, and veteran Juan Pablo Angel, who scored Chivas’ only goal in Wednesday’s tie with New York. That draw extended the team’s modest streak to three games in which it has earned at least a point though Chivas is a conference-worst 1-5 at home. The Sounders, meanwhile, are winless in their last three and will be without midfielder Osvaldo Alonso, who was suspended two games by MLS for a reckless tackle on the Columbus Crew’s Cole Grossman.
