Jeremy Lin is a game-time decision for the Lakers Anaheim exhibition game against the Utah Jazz on Thursday.
Lin suffered a sprained ankle in practice on Sunday, sitting out the Lakers’ 116-75 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
“He’s a little ginger,” Byron Scott said of Lin after practice on Monday. “He said it feels a lot better today than it did yesterday. Thursday is going to be pretty much a game-time decision. I think he’ll feel better by Thursday.”
The Lakers are 1-2 so far this preseason, defeating the Denver Nuggets but falling twice to the Warriors.
Veteran point guard Steve Nash played just the first quarter against Golden State, telling Scott he just didn’t feel quite right.
Scott gave Nash and Kobe Bryant a pass on practice Monday.
“Steve’s OK. Him and Kobe today, I told both to just go in there and get treatment -- take the day off,” said Scott. “We were doing just a bunch of shooting and offensive work.”
Meanwhile, Nick Young was fitted with a new, red cast on his right hand. The scorer is out approximately eight weeks as he recovers from thumb surgery.
“It’s pretty nice,” said Young. “They said I [could go] with hot pink ... but I went with red. It’s a nice color.”
Scott still has Young running through conditioning drills while sidelined.
Xavier Henry (back) and Ryan Kelly (hamstring) continue to increase their activity in practice, but both are expected to be out Thursday.
Scott noted that rookie Jordan Clarkson (calf) will miss Utah on Thursday, but could be available for Sunday when the Lakers play the Jazz at Staples Center.
