NFL power rankings: Indianapolis surges into top 10, Packers fade

The newest Times NFL power rankings are out, and while the top two remain the same, two big-name teams had big fluctuations.
The Indianapolis Colts rose five spots to No. 10 on the heels of their 20-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers sank five spots to No. 9 after they were routed by the New York Giants, 38-10.
Lance Pugmire, who compiles are rankings, had this to say about the Colts: “Amid news that leukemia-sidelined Coach Cuck Pagano is in remission, T.Y. Hilton steps up with TD catch and punt return vs. Bills.”
On the Packers: “Injury depleted defense gave up nearly 400 yards in Giants’ loss, and offensive line wasn’t much better, letting five sacks happen. Big game vs. Vikings now.”
Jacksonville moved out of the bottom spot in the rankings for the first time in several weeks, replaced by the hapless Kansas City Chiefs.
The complete top 10: 1. Houston Texans; 2. Atlanta Falcons; 3. Denver Broncos; 4. San Francisco 49ers; 5. New England Patriots; 6. Baltimore Ravens; 7. New York Giants; 8. Chicago Bears; 9. Packers; 10. Colts.
