This Las Vegas 5K gives you a Santa suit to wear while you run

The Great Santa Run in Las Vegas is open to locals and visitors alike who want to dress the part and participate in the city’s most festive run of the year.
Thousands will take to the streets of downtown Vegas on Saturday for the13th annual run that’s a fundraiser for Opportunity Village, a nonprofit organization serving people with intellectual disabilities.
Unlike marathons along the Strip, no serious training is needed to participate in the 5K run starting at 10 a.m. or the 1 mile fun run starting at 10:30 a.m.
Spectators are welcome to cheer on the participants as they race along Fremont Street.
Author, model and reality TV personality Holly Madison will serve as grand marshal for the 5K. Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman will be joined by the male stripper troupe Chippendales to preside over the 1-mile dash.
The festivities begin at 8 a.m. under the canopy at the Fremont Street Experience with entertainment by the cast of Human Nature, an Elvis dance troupe and other performers.
Registration costs $45 for adults and is free for children. (Canine companions can participate for $10.)
The price includes a five-piece Santa suit, a goody bag and a commemorative finisher medal.
The 2017 run in Las Vegas hopes to make it into the Guinness World Records as the largest gathering of Santas for a fun run. Vegas will be facing stiff competition from other events around the world, including the Liverpool Santa Dash, to be held in the English city on Sunday.
