Egypt journey combines land tour with cruise on the Nile

Discover the treasures of ancient Egypt on on a 13-day tour and cruise that combines a visit to Cairo with a six-night cruise on the Nile aboard the 42-passenger ship Oberoi Philae.
The Lindblad Expeditions trip marks the company’s return to the region and will include a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo as well as sites along the Nile, such as Abu Simbel and Giza.
In Luxor, participants will visit Karnak and Luxor temples; they will also explore the Valley of the Kings and see the tombs of Tutankhamen, Seti I and Nefertari. In Aswan, the group will visit the island temple of Philae and the Nubian Museum, drink afternoon tea at the Old Cataract Hotel and sail on a felucca.
In Abu Simbel, they will visit the two temples built by Ramses II that were disassembled and moved, block by block, to higher ground when the Nile was dammed at Aswan.
Dates: Oct. 28, Nov. 25 as well as Jan. 20 and March 17, 2019
Price: From $8,480 per person, double occupancy. Includes accommodations, meals, guide services and transfers. International airfare not included. Optional five-day post-voyage extension to Jordan is available.
