Planning your trip mountain climbing trip in Canada

From LAX, nonstop service to Calgary International Airport is offered on Air Canada, and connecting service (change of planes) is offered on Central Mountain Air. Restricted round-trip fares begin at $410. From Calgary International Airport, the Banff Airporter ([888] 449-2901, www.banff airporter.com) offers frequent daily bus service to Banff for $53, plus tax, one way. A Canadian Mountain Holidays shuttle returns you to Calgary International at the end of your trip.
WHAT TO DO
The via ferrata is offered to those who sign up for a heli-hiking package at Canadian Mountain Holidays’ Bobbie Burns Lodge, provided they are judged fit enough; (800) 661-0252, www.canadianmountain holidays.com/adventure. The season runs from early July to early September. The price for a three-night package with 2 1/2 days of guided heli-hiking and all meals is $2,342 for adults, $2,059 for youths ages 15 to 17, and $1,758 for children ages 5 to 14. (Kids’ participation in the via ferrata is at the discretion of the guides.)
