Reporting from Las Vegas — Impressionist Gordie Brown wants his Canadian fans to see his show for free, so for the month of July, the Montreal native is doing just that. Those with a Canadian ID land a complimentary pair of tickets to his show at the Golden Nugget.
“Although I am in Las Vegas, I am celebrating Canada Day in full force,” Brown says in a press statement. “My Canadian audiences have always been good to me and now, I’d like to do something special for them.”
Brown was working as a political cartoonist for the Ottawa Sunday Herald when his co-workers entered him in a talent contest. He came in first.
He moved to Las Vegas with a suitcase and a dream: to some day work with fellow Canadians such as Paul Anka and Rich Little. Two years after arriving, he did just that, and even went on to open for comedians Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno and Louie Anderson, country stars Kenny Rogers and Randy Travis and singer Barry Manilow.
Brown brings a repertoire of live music, comedy and his impressions in a show that is offered Tuesdays through Thursdays, and Saturdays and Sundays.
Those without a Canadian ID can see the show starting at $27.50.
