2 New Models Due: Mitsubishi Motors, which reported strong U.S. car and truck sales last year, will introduce two new models this year: the Diamante sports sedan and the Expo station wagon.
Prices have not been fixed, but the target for the Diamante ranges from $22,000 for model with a 175-horsepower engine to $28,000 for a model with a 202-horsepower engine. The Expo is expected to be priced between $10,000 and $13,000 for a three-door, five-passenger model, and from $13,000 to $15,000 for a five-door, seven-passenger version.
Despite the new models, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, the Japanese parent’s distribution headquarters in Cypress, project flat 1991 sales of 192,000 units, up from 190,730 last year.
