‘America’ Fair Value?: Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Harvey Schneider said Friday that he will rely on witnesses’ testimony to determine the “fair market value” of contributions by Art Buchwald and his producing partner Alain Bernheim to the Eddie Murphy 1988 blockbuster, “Coming to America.” The ruling sets the stage for another phase of the trial, in which Schneider has already found that an idea proposed by Buchwald and Bernheim was the basis for the hit Paramount film. No date was set for the next round of hearings.
