Franklin Telecom in Westlake Village announced that a channel bank with expanded features is now in production.
The new version of the Typhoon D-mark channel bank incorporates technology that allows users to introduce standard telephone lines into the channel bank and incorporate features such as call forwarding and voice mail into their internal telephone systems.
“There are approximately 5 million [company telephone systems] in the United States which do not have [this] capability at present,” said Franklin President and CEO Frank Peters. “Some PBX units are designed to make [such] access impossible. In other cases, the cost to convert would be too great to be practical.”
Peters said the Franklin product was designed at the request of its customers.
Franklin Telecom, founded in 1981, manufactures communications devices, satellite systems and software.
