OUTLOOK
Ryan takes over for Darin Owens, who, in 1995, had replaced Lyn Lumley, who left for Lewis and Clark College in Oregon. Ryan hopes to put some permanence into a program that finished last in the Christian League a year ago. So far he’s impressed with the hard-working nature of his young players, who show plenty of potential. Ryan is implementing a new system and has a solid group of young players who will get significant amounts of playing time, which should pay off down the line. Scoring points in league games was a problem for SCC last season, as it scored only 13 points in five games. The Flames did score 53 points in their season opener against Kate Andrews from Canada, and 43 against L.A. Ribet Academy. Ryan hopes the team will be playing its best by the end of the season.
