the year through June 2. The Warehouse Sale offers discounts up to

Owner Charles Shrout at Charles Kelly at Home uses his creative

talents to select appealing antiques, reproduction furniture,

pillows, garden ornaments, and frames, bar accessories, wine boxes,

antique kitchen accessories, and handmade soaps. Shrout is the only

one in town who carries 350 to 530 thread count Egyptian-cotton

Peacock Alley bedding. Custom pillows, throws and down comforters can

be ordered too. Top-of-the-line Royal Pedic mattresses in sizes twin

to king are also available. In the back of the store, there’s even a

selection of Dean and Deluca gourmet coffees and olive oils from New

century art is at Gallery One of Laguna Beach. There’s a huge

selection of oil paintings done by more than 30 European and Eastern

European artists. Paintings are so plentiful that to see them all

you’ll have to thumb through the stacks resting on the floor. Not all

are framed. Owner Ken Uranga says lately there’s a big interest in

Russian icons and always Venetian-style mirrors. Plus Chinese

Gallery One International, like its next door neighbor, carries

art and antiques, yet it specializes in large accessories, bronzes

and estate pieces. It offers commissioned art, mostly for family

Create a custom bracelet or necklace at The Bead Shop. There are

beads from all over the world, from every material imaginable: horn,

two cents for a kids’ bead, up to nearly a $1,000 for a precious

HOT DESIGNS

Fetneh Blake carries collections from eight award-winning

designers from Paris, London, New York and Los Angeles. Their

collections are not big, yet many go on to design for fashion houses

in Europe. Rick Owens known for his bias cuts and drapery, won the

CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers Award) for designer of the year.

“He’s the hottest designer in the world,” says Blake.

Other designers featured are Ann Demeulemeester, Lainey Keogh,

Clements Ribeiro, Matthew Williamson, Yoshiki Hishinuma, Jemima Khan,
